The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC,in Anambra yesterday destroyed fake, substandard and expired drugs which worth over N500 million.


Director General of NAFDAC, Dr Paul Orhii, who led security operatives at the destruction exercise, explained that most of the drugs were expired products voluntarily surrendered to the NAFDAC Agent by drug traders at the famous Head Bridge Market in Onitsha popularlly known as ogbo-okwu

Among products destroyed were antibiotics, anti inflammatory, anti-diabetics, anti malarial and drugs for gastric ulcer.
